Dr. Mo’men Elgendy is a journalist, author, and media professional with an extensive career in journalism and broadcasting since 2007.
Born in Faqous, Al Sharqia, Egypt, he graduated from the Faculty of Arts at Zagazig University and later earned his Master’s and PhD in Media Studies from the University of Cambridge.
He currently serves as Managing Editor of Al-Fajr newspaper and Editor-in-Chief of 6 October magazine. Since 2016, Dr. Elgendy has also worked as a certified media trainer, delivering training to more than 10,000 participants in Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Palestine, and the UAE on journalism, radio and television presenting, and podcast production.
In 2015, he joined the International Journalists’ Network (IJNet) and, a year later, founded a pioneering media project offering free training for young people in journalism and media.
Dr. Elgendy hosted the 3rd World Conference on Sustainable Development at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina in 2018, attended by Arab ambassadors and ministers.
His podcast was nominated for Best Online Program in the 2021 (Washwasha Awards) and shortlisted for The Best 2024 award by Egy Podcast.
